Norwegian cruise — Houston, TX

Houston itself is not a major cruise port, so you'd typically be looking at departures from Galveston or Florida. For those areas, the cheapest months are usually September, October, and the period from late January through March. Avoiding school holidays and summer vacation is key to finding lower prices. These months often offer pleasant weather too.

From Texas ports like Galveston, the most popular Norwegian cruises are typically 4- to 7-day itineraries to the Western Caribbean, visiting places like Cozumel, Progreso, and sometimes Jamaica or Grand Cayman. Longer voyages to the Eastern Caribbean or Bahamas are also available. The specific 'top 5' can change seasonally, but these destinations are consistently in demand.

For couples or longer itineraries, this budget might be tight for covering the cruise fare and all onboard expenses. It's best to get a personalized quote.

Norwegian Cruise Line offers a strong value proposition, providing a good mix of amenities and entertainment at competitive price points, making it a popular choice for affordable cruising. To find the most budget-friendly options within Norwegian, look for sailings during the less popular months and consider interior or balcony staterooms. They offer a well-rounded experience.

The cheapest months for Norwegian cruises are generally September and October, following the summer peak and before the holiday season begins. January and February also tend to offer lower fares, though itineraries might be more limited or focused on warmer destinations. Booking during these shoulder seasons can lead to significant savings.

Norwegian Cruise Line does not currently offer direct itineraries from Galveston to the Bahamas. Their Caribbean sailings from Texas typically focus on the Western Caribbean. To reach the Bahamas on a Norwegian cruise, you would generally need to depart from Florida ports like Miami or Port Canaveral. It's worth checking their schedule for specific offerings.
